Extended Day
Flexible care, grounded in the same Laurelwood experience.
Extended Day is available to children enrolled in the preschool program. Families may register for additional care from 7:00–8:00 a.m. and/or from 2:45–6:00 p.m.
The same materials and quality of learning are available during extended hours, with a few intentional differences that support children across a longer day.
- Time to nourish and reset.An additional meal and snack are provided for children attending Extended Day.
- More time outdoors.Children will be given more time outdoors.
- Rest when it is needed.An additional or extended rest time is offered. This time is not required or enforced for children who do not need or desire it.
- Thoughtful continuity of care.Part-time staff join at 3:00 p.m. so Laurelwood teachers can plan and prepare for the following day. These staff members are qualified child care providers who understand and follow Laurelwood's philosophy.
- Familiar spaces and materials.The same space and materials are available during extended hours.
