Active learning, grounded in a steady rhythm.
Laurelwood's preschool day begins with arrival from 7:45 a.m. and ends with departure from 2:30–2:45 p.m., with meaningful active learning in between. Families needing additional morning, afternoon, or full-day care can explore our Extended Day program. For part-time options, please contact the school.
Our ratios are 1:6 for age two and 1:8 for ages three through five. Laurelwood is a 5-star licensed center.
What the day makes possible

- Projects that grow from children's ideas.Teachers arrange classrooms and develop ongoing work around children's interests, questions, and abilities.
- A studio for the hundred languages.In our Art Studio, small groups explore expressive materials and deepen their project work with the Studio Facilitator.
- Nature in every season.Outdoor experiences include gardening, music, dramatic play, building, and art—rain or shine.
Within these thoughtfully created spaces, children are encouraged to explore freely and engage with peers, teachers, and the environment at their own pace through play and conversation.
